Man, 80, in hospital after medical episode and accident with two cars

An 80-year-old man was hospitalized after he had a medical incident in a two car incident in Wigan.

Emergency services were called to Walthew Lane in Wigan at 10 a.m. this morning (Jan. 12) after reports were made of the incident in which a vehicle collided with a parked car.

The road was temporarily closed while the emergency services were on site.

The man was taken to the hospital.

Police were called on Walthew Lane in Wigan this morning after reports of an accident

A GMFRS spokesman said: “At around 10am on Wednesday, January 12th, firefighters were called for reports of a road collision on Walthew Lane, Platt Bridge.

“A fire engine from the Hindley station was there quickly. Two cars were involved in the collision.

“Firefighters were working to make the scene safe and were on duty for about 20 minutes.”

A GMP spokesman said: “A vehicle involved collided with a parked car.

“A man in his 80s had a medical episode and was hospitalized.”
