A man was knocked unconscious and had to be taken to hospital after a car accident.
Emergency services were called to report reports of a man being hit by a car on Lodge Lane at the intersection of Riston Street in Toxteth at 6:38 p.m. on Friday, July 2.
When police arrived at the scene at 6.42 p.m., they found an unconscious man with a head injury after being hit by a car that drove away from the incident. The driver has stopped nearby and is talking to the officers.

The man stopped by just before the North West Ambulance Service arrived and they took him to Liverpool Royal Hospital for observation.
His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Since the arrival of the police, the road has been closed in both directions so that the investigative work can be carried out.
The road is expected to be cleared by Merseyside Police within the next hour.
INTRIX travel website said traffic is slow due to the closure.
