Man “seriously injured” after being mowed down by a car on Scots Street

A man was “seriously injured” after being mowed down by a car in a shocking impact on a Scottish road in the early hours of the morning.

Police are investigating the incident, which occurred at around 3:05 a.m. on Sunday morning on Denburn Road in Kirkcaldy.

In a post on Fife Jammer Locations, the victim’s partner asked for information as he was reportedly left with “multiple serious injuries”.

The anonymous post asked if anyone had seen an accident between Hayfield Road or Denburn Road between 1am and 3am.

It read: “My partner was hit by a car around 1–3am and the driver ran away.

“He was found on Denburn Road at 3am, unable to move with a broken leg and several serious injuries.

“He’s just had an operation to stop internal bleeding and now he’s undergoing leg surgery.

“I would be very grateful for any information. Thank you very much ..”

The police confirmed to the record that they are investigating the incident.

A police spokesman for Scotland said:

“The car took off and an investigation is underway to find it and the driver.

“The male pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy for treatment.

“Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101 and quote incident 0804 from August 1, 2021.”
