Ralliart is coming back, only on an SUV.
Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi released two teaser pictures this week previewing two cars that will debut at Tokyo Auto Salon next month. One resurrects a familiar name while the other is a tiny EV.
First and foremost is a concept vehicle from Ralliart. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because Mitsubishi offered Ralliart Performance trim for many of its US cars, most recently for the deceased Lancer. This time around, however, Mitsubishi will likely give one of its SUVs that sporty treatment. Outlander Ralliart? Yes, probably.
We bet this will be cute.
Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi’s other Tokyo Auto Salon concept is an electric kei car. We absolutely will not see this one in the US as Keis are a special class of subcompact cars that are sold in Japan. Mitsubishi says this concept “combines the ease of use and practical size of a kei car with the smooth yet powerful driving performance of an electric vehicle while offering advanced driver assistance systems and connectivity.” Sounds good.
We’ll know more when the two concepts are introduced next month. The Tokyo Auto Salon 2022 kicks off in Japan on January 14th.
