When you bought the Bentley Mulsanne, if you missed the boat when it was for sale, Bentley is now offering five more with extra length and seating arrangements like a London taxi.

After a private order for an extra-long Mulsanne, Bentley’s coachbuilder Mulliner received the green light in 2015 to produce five more for customers in the United Arab Emirates. Six years later, this must have been a surprise to the companies; they were still sitting in the dealership, unused and unregistered.

Every car offers a meter more space than the normal Mulsanne, which hardly pests in the back seats. Rear headroom has also been increased by 79mm, and Bentley says the car interiors should feel like being in a private jet. The passenger area has been expanded to include two rear-facing seats, so you can hold a meeting with four people without your annoying driver interfering.

There are drinks coolers and glasses between the rear seats, and a bespoke HVAC system allows the four passengers to set their own air conditioning. There are folding tables with iPad charging stations, as well as clock faces that show local and UK time, as well as the outside temperature. The partition between passengers and driver can be switched from clear to opaque at the push of a button.

The result of Mulliner’s work are the longest manufacturer sedans in the world. The stretch conversion looks seamless and would undoubtedly be one of the most luxurious automotive experiences ever. But … would it be impolite to say that these cars look like hearses? Maybe that’s why they were never sold.

The one shown here has a two-tone finish in Silver Frost and Moroccan Blue, with walnut veneer and a beige-blue interior. Each individual car was painted in a different combination, with one version painted in Damson and Crystal Black. There is also a solid black, a red-black, and another red one.
