Everything we know so far about the A1 incident
This morning at around 7:20 a.m. there was a collision with three vehicles.
A1 (M) northbound – Anywhere between J62 A690 (Carrville) to J63 A167 (Chester-Le-Street).
There is still up to five miles of traffic and delays of up to 40 minutes while the accident investigation begins.
Three people were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Detour – Follow the Solid Triangle detour signs. Take exit J61 and go through Durham and Chester le Street to return to J63.
- Is the road still closed?
A1 (M) northbound from J62 A690 (Carrville) to J63 A167 (Chester-Le-Street) is currently closed.
