Proposed changes to a supermarket parking lot in Norwich were withdrawn after highway bosses said it would create “unacceptable and insurmountable” traffic problems.
Morrisons had submitted plans for a new exit from his parking lot on Koblenz Avenue opposite the Carrow Road soccer field to alleviate the congestion problems in the Riverside Retail Park.

All motorists are currently forced to leave Albion Way, which at peak times is often driven from traffic jams to the intersection with Koblenz Avenue.
The supermarket has also put forward plans for a converted pelican-style pedestrian crossing to make crossing Albion Way safer.
Norfolk County Council had filed an objection to the plans stating that it was “under no circumstances acceptable”.
More traffic censuses and modeling are needed to better understand the ongoing congestion problems, she added.
Now the supermarket chain has withdrawn its building application.
