ATLANTA – Channel 2 Action News learned that one man was killed and another injured in a shooting in a busy Buckhead mall.
The shooting took place at around 4 p.m. at the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center on the 2300 block of Peachtree Road.
According to police, a man came out of one of the shops when he saw people break into his car. Then he confronted her and started shooting to defend himself.

Investigators said another man ran from the scene and fired laps while running. They located this person a short distance later.
A total of two people were shot. One was killed on the scene. The other was taken to a nearby hospital and was last listed as stable.
Branch Properties, which owns the mall, released a statement stating:
“On Friday afternoon, the security team at the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center reacted to a situation in the parking lot. Our team was there and responded immediately and continues to work closely with the Atlanta Police Department. The safety of our guests is our top priority and we continue to maintain the increased security measures on site. “
