Police are advising people to avoid the area around Western Promenade Road in Penzance after a “serious” car accident.
Reports of an overturned vehicle have closed the road and resulted in heavy traffic after police, ambulances and fire trucks were on site at around 6:10 p.m. today (April 7).
Inrix, the traffic monitoring website, says it was an overturned van but local witnesses told CornwallLive it was a car.
An ambulance was later seen in town to help with the accident. Witnesses say he is being treated by paramedics.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “There has been a road collision.
“It’s fair to say it’s a bad accident and we’re giving people a message to avoid the area.”
No update was provided for the person who was in the vehicle.
The vehicle is said to have overturned from Queen Street to Alexandra Road.
A post on Inrix states: “Western Promenade Road is closed in both directions, heavy traffic due to an overturned van from Queen Street to Alexandra Road.
“Police confirm that the road was closed at 6:10 pm, affecting traffic in and out of Penzance.
