A white BWM and a blue Vauxhall Astra collided in Northern Parade at the junction with London Road in Hilsea around 8:19 p.m.
Several police vehicles and three fire engines from the Cosham and Southsea fire stations were dispatched to the scene with traffic disrupted but still able to move around the intersection.
No one was injured in the collision, and a fire brigade remains on site to assist the BMW driver, a middle-aged woman in shock, according to Cosham crew manager Wayne Goble.

The BMW was damaged in the Hilsea crash tonight.
The firefighter said, “We are waiting for the South Central Ambulance Service to examine you.
“We also did a medical examination of a 20-year-old man (in the Astra).

Another Hilsea resident who lives on London Road called the intersection a “death trap.”
Jennie Newport, 40, said, “The intersection in this area should be re-examined by the council.
“Someday someone will die. It could be a child. That could be a lost life. That has to be sorted. ‘
