A main road in north Manchester was closed Tuesday night after a pedestrian was reportedly hit by a car.
The A669 (Oldham Road) was closed in both directions following the collision at Middleton.
A cordon was erected between the intersections with James Andrew St & Hilton Fold Lane.
A pedestrian was reported to have been hit by a car, but police have yet to confirm this.
A witness said that around 6 p.m., numerous ambulances and police cars drove into the area.

Further details about the incident are not known.
About two hours later, at 8:30 p.m., the cordon was lifted.
A tweet posted by Transport for Greater Manchester read: “The A669 #OldhamRd at #Middleton is CLOSED between its junctions with James Andrew St & Hilton Fold Ln due to an RTC.
“Local bus services may be re-routed, please check before travel and seek an alternative route if you can.”
