A busy main road had to be closed earlier today after a truck was involved in an accident.
A truck and car crashed on Church Road in Bootle this morning, the truck apparently also crashing into a lamp post.
The crash outside The Netherton pub reportedly did not cause any serious injuries.

It is also believed that the truck is swerving to avoid a car in front, which is what caused the accident.
A small child is said to have been in the car that the truck evades, luckily no one was seriously injured.
An eyewitness said, “The truck driver dodged to avoid a car driving up. The car had a small child in it, but luckily everyone is safe.
“The truck driver avoided a far more serious accident! The car has already been taken away.”
Merseyside Police Department has been asked to comment.
