Anger over Windsor Street Car Park in the state of Stratford has led the county council to start making repairs on the site.

The Herald receives regular complaints about the parking lot, many of which are said to be deserting the city.
Opposition councils and local residents have previously described how the dark, shabby parking lot makes users unsafe, a view that is likely to find support as darker nights approach.
This week, the issue of not working lighting in the stairwells of the building and in the surrounding paths was raised on social media, which once again sparked criticism of the district council for inadequate measures.
A Stratford County Council spokesman said, “Engineers visited the site and tried to track down the fault in the lighting system, which was intermittent and difficult to fix.
“New lights and emergency lights for both stairwells have now been ordered and should be installed this week. The front stairwell will have priority. “
Such maintenance is unlikely to silence complaints about the health of the facility, but there is uncertainty as to whether and when significant long-term improvements can be made.
This is because the parking lot is believed to be tied within the Stratford Gateway project, a plan to redevelop a large lot between Windsor Street and Arden Street.
The council seems reluctant to make larger investments if there is a chance the land will eventually be redeveloped, but the gateway has suffered setbacks, with little progress in years.
However, there are signs that this may change as the District Council makes an offer to the government to fund the redevelopment of the area and the construction of a World Shakespeare Center.
Whether the tender was successful or whether the redesign of Windsor Street Car Park will be part of the project is not yet known, but many are hoping to do so.
