These 5 unique Bentley sedans have never seen the road before

overview

Bentley may have officially ended production of the Mulsanne last year, but it isn’t done with it yet. Mulliner, Bentley’s body shop, had turned five Mulsannes into the ultimate luxury class. Keep in mind that the Mulsanne Grand Sedan was never actually part of the British luxury automaker’s original range.

First presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016, these stately cars were ordered and built to order. Mulliner, Bentley’s division that only sells bespoke creations, assembled these cars by hand.

The Mulsanne itself isn’t a humble car, and yet the Grand Sedan goes beyond that. The five cars produced are now available for sale through Bentley’s dealership in Dubai.

When looking for space from your Bentley, forget about the tiny Bentayga and its cramped rear seats, as the Grand Sedan is literally in a class of its own. Typical Bentley features such as the single-frame grill and the flying B mascot are all available.

Mulliner engineers increased the wheelbase and length of the stock Mulsanne by a meter or 40 inches to create this bespoke Bentley.

They also raised the roof line by 3 inches. All five cars have a unique two-tone paint scheme and contrasting interior colors. The 21-inch wheels are unique and sport a finish that goes perfectly with the stunning paint job of the blue car you see here.

Inner

If the exterior caught your attention, wait to check out the cabin of this car. As expected with every Bentley, the interior is bathed in wood and leather. The Grand Sedan’s cabin resembles that of a private jet, and that’s no coincidence, as Mulliner actually took inspiration from the interior of a private jet when designing the interior.

This much larger Bentley has great seats with space for four in the rear. If you ride in the rear, you get your very own heating and air conditioning system, developed and built by Mulliner. The air conditioning has five zones and is controlled via buttons on the armrest. It enables each of the four rear passengers to individually control the climate and the air inlets.

You also get a number of picnic tables as well as iPad docking stations in the back.

The pane of glass that separates the driver from the rear passengers can be made opaque or translucent at the push of a button – for even more privacy in the next million dollar deal.

perfomance

In a car that values luxury and comfort, you need an engine that has sufficient power but is also refined at the same time. Bentley is synonymous with developing some powerful powertrains.

To haul the extra weight of this luxurious barge around, the Mulsanne Grand Sedan features Bentley’s 6.75-liter V-8 turbo engine that produces 512 horsepower and 753 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain is no longer available in the Bentley range today and was last seen in the Mulsanne.

Bentley Grand Sedan specifications

engine 6.75 liter V-8 turbo
perfomance 512 hp
Torque 753 LB-FT
0 to 60 mph 5.5 seconds
Top speed 155 km / h

Personally, the Mulsanne must be one of my favorite modern Bentleys because it has a stately upright posture, similar to its predecessor, the Arnage. The Flying Spur has always been more about speed and athleticism. The Mulsanne is definitely more dignified in its design and had the styling that a real Bentley deserves.

Any of these five Mulsanne from 2015 have never been driven.

This example that you see here in the stunning shade of blue is one of them; the others have their own color schemes.

Unsurprisingly, the pricing of these Mulsannes is a well-kept secret that Bentley politely does not disclose. However, if you are looking for one of these exclusive Bentley sedans, price shouldn’t necessarily be an issue, should it? The dealer is also happy to deliver the cars anywhere in the world, if you have decided on one and can pay the undisclosed price.
