Traffic was diverted through Badenoch after a triple car accident

The A82 remains closed between Spean Bridge and Fort William after an earlier RTC, and some traffic is diverted to Dalwhinnie.

Drivers have to drive via Crainlarich, the A85 to Perth, the A9 to Dalwhinnie, the A889 and the A86 – and vice versa.

Appeal to the witness.

This detour route is 161 miles.

Road policemen are asking for information following the serious traffic accident on the A82 near Fort William today.

The incident occurred between Spean Bridge and Aonach Mor around 5:30 p.m. and affected three cars – a white Audi A3, a black BMW 5 Series and a white Toyota Corolla.

A man and woman, both 21 years old, were rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in an ambulance with serious injuries.

A woman was also taken to Raigmore Hospital in an ambulance with serious injuries.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with alleged traffic violations.

The road is closed in both directions and officials are telling drivers to avoid the area.

Road Police Sergeant Angus Macleod said: “I appeal to everyone who has been in the area and seen these vehicles being driven before or during the accident to contact us.

“If you have a dash cam, please check back to see if there is any footage to support our investigation
