Woman, 93, is fighting for her life after three car accidents at a busy intersection

A 93-year-old woman is fighting for her life following an accident on Dunnings Bridge Road.

The retiree was one of two people rescued by firefighters who severed the roof of their vehicle.

Three other people had to receive medical care after the incident.

After an accident involving three cars at the intersection of Dunnings Bridge Road and Park Lane West, emergency services were called to Netherton shortly before 12.30 p.m. on Saturday.

A black Audi Q3, a blue Audi A4 and a black Ford Galaxy were involved.

Of the four occupants of the vehicles, two were taken to the hospital for further treatment and one of them, the 93-year-old passenger in the Audi Q3, is in critical condition in the hospital.

Road Police Inspector Mark Worrall said, “This incident is currently under investigation and we have spoken to some witnesses and accessed dashcam footage.

“We are very interested in speaking to anyone who has not yet reported back with information, and we ask anyone who witnessed the collision or recorded something on a dashcam or other device to do so as soon as possible. Your information could be critical to our investigation.

“Whether you come to us directly or anonymously, all information will be responded to via Crimestoppers.”
