Woman in her fifties threatened with hammer by gang of men in Tesco parking lot

A woman was threatened with a hammer in a horrific car theft in Oldham.

The victim, in her 50s, was approached by a gang of three in the Tesco car park on Chew Valley Road in Greenfield.

Police rushed to the store just before 7 p.m. yesterday evening (November 13) after a theft was reported.

Three men had threatened the woman with a hammer before they drove away in their vehicle, the police said.

GMP has launched an investigation.

There have been no arrests so far.

A GMP spokesman said: “The police were arrested on Saturday the 13th.

“Three men threatened a woman in her fifties with a hammer before they drove off in the vehicle.

“No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have footage of the area at the time, should contact the police online if possible or cite incident 2745 of 11/13/2021 on 101.
