72-year-old woman dies after being hit by a car in Southwick

A 70-year-old woman tragically died in a crash in Southwick.

On Thursday September 9th, Sussex police officers were called to Old Shoreham Road after reports of an incident.

When they arrived, they found that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

The police confirmed today (Wednesday, September 15) that the pedestrian unfortunately died at the scene.

The victim, a 72-year-old woman, was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Sussex Police are now seeking witnesses and clues.

A spokesman said: “The investigation is underway and the officers want to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who recorded potentially relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.

“Anyone with information is asked to report it online or call 101 to cite Operation Redford.”
