A4 closed to traffic after car and motorcycle accident in West Berkshire – summary

A major road in Berkshire was closed today (Monday 6th December) following an accident involving a motorcycle and a car.

The A4 Gravel Hill Westbound was closed to traffic between the junction with the A34 (Speen) and the Church Road junction (Marsh Benham).

The traffic could not get onto the road from the A34, drivers were diverted on site.

The incident was first reported on Inrix at 5:13 p.m.

The traffic data company said: “A4 Gravel Hill Westbound closed due to a serious accident involving a car and motorcycle from the A34 (Speen) to Church Road (Marsh Benham). The traffic gets along well.

“Local officials report that there is no access from the A34, local officials divert the traffic.”

Inrix later said the A4 had reopened at 9.25 p.m.
