VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Vancouver police said a toddler was killed after being hit by a car near the Vancouver courthouse.
Police were called to the Hornby and Smithe Street area Tuesday night for reports of a two-car accident.

“One of the vehicles collided with two pedestrians,” says a spokesman. “An 11 month old baby was killed. “The father, 31, was taken to the hospital. His injuries are currently unknown. “

The driver of the car that hit the father and child was also taken to the hospital.
Several streets through the city center were closed. Hornby Street is closed between Robson and Nelson, and Smithe Street is closed between Howe and Burrard.
The police are asking you to avoid the area during the investigation.
