A man in his 1960s was repeatedly stabbed to death while in his car in Bedford.
The man was stabbed in the chest and neck on Maitland Street at around 4 p.m. on Saturday, Bedfordshire police said.
He was taken to the hospital, but his condition was unclear on Saturday night.
A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with the attack and is still in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Marie Gresswell said: “We are working to investigate the circumstances of this incident and are investigating several investigations.
“We believe this was an isolated incident with no danger to the general public and our officials are staying on site to reassure residents and hear their concerns.
“We’d also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time with dashcam footage, video surveillance or information that could help us with our investigation.”
