Boy, 2, rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car in the Leeds Tesco parking lot

A two year old boy was admitted to hospital today after being hit by a car in a Tesco parking lot in Leeds.

Police said a white Volkswagen Golf hit the boy in Tesco’s parking lot on Roundhay Road this afternoon.

He was not seriously injured, but is in the hospital for observation.

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police confirmed they had been called to a street collision at 12:35 p.m. today, Monday 20 December.

The police further confirmed that the driver involved was approached by police officers.

The officers set up a crime scene for investigative collision work.

This was removed shortly before 4 p.m.

The full statement from a West Yorkshire police spokesman said: “At 12:35 pm today, police were called to a road collision in the parking lot of the Tesco store in Roundhay Road, Leeds.

“A two-year-old boy collided with a white Volkswagen Golf.

“The child was taken to the hospital for treatment, no serious injuries were found, but they are being held for observation.

“The driver concerned was approached by officials.

“A scene was set up for collision investigations and removed shortly before 4 p.m.”
