Driver of a suspected stolen car arrested in Sandwell

The driver of an allegedly stolen vehicle was arrested in Sandwell early on Friday morning.

West Midlands Police officers arrested the driver of the car and recovered the vehicle after pursuing the suspect.

In a tweet at 2:13 pm, police said: “We have just been tracking a suspected stolen car in Sandwell. Driver arrested and car found. “

Figures from the Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency show that 74,769 cars were stolen in the UK last year – one every seven minutes, a 33% increase from 2019.

And according to the Bureau of National Statistics, 72% of stolen vehicles are never returned to their owners.
