Six fire engines took part in a garage fire on Lowdham Road, Gunthorpe.
The fire was reported to the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service at 4.37am and they are fighting it with hose reels and breathing apparatus.
Traffic data website Inrix, meanwhile, confirmed in a post at 5.16am this morning that the The A6097 was closed in both directions “due to fire service activity from Main Street (Gunthorpe) to Gunthorpe Road (Lowdham)”.
The official Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service Twitter account @nottsfire posted a message regarding the incident at 5.08am this morning.
It read: “We are at the scene of the fire at a car garage in Lowdham Road, Gunthorpe. The incident was reported to us at 4.37am and we have 6 fire engines at the scene. We are currently fighting the fire with hose reels and breathing apparatus.”
The road has now been reopened.
