Industry jobs: roles at Select Car Leasing, MotoNovo Finance, FleetCheck and Paythru

Graham Conway appointed as new Managing Director of Select Car Leasing

Select Car Leasing General Manager Graham Conway (pictured) has been appointed as the company’s new General Manager.

Conway has been instrumental in its growth over the past 18 months, according to Select Car Leasing.

Conway joined the company in the spring of 2019, having previously held the position of head broker at vehicle finance and administration firm Alphabet.

Conway said, “I have been heavily involved in developing and mobilizing our new Select Fleet Solutions brand. We intend to be a real disruptor in the business solutions space when it comes to renting business contracts and reducing the costs of running a fleet.

“We are now working with ODO, FMG, Masternaut, Allstar and DriveTech and have developed a completely new fleet that we are bringing to market.

“From a business perspective, we want to ensure that companies with fleets of up to 250 vehicles get the service they deserve. It’s a real opportunity for us to hold hands with fleet managers with a modest fleet size. “

MotoNovo Finance announces Karl Werner as new managing director

MotoNovo Finance has announced the appointment of Karl Werner (pictured) as the new Managing Director (MD).

He will replace longtime chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Standish, who decided to leave the business after overseeing MotoNovo’s integration into parent company Aldermore Group, the company said.

As a long-standing member of the MotoNovo management team and a regular industry commentator and speaker, Werner’s appointment ensures a natural continuity of the company’s commitment to customer and dealer orientation and further growth.

Werner commented: “As the world recovers, challenges and changes will certainly play an important role in an increasingly digital, customer-oriented environment in the automotive and financial services markets.

“In leading MotoNovo, a company, as Mark noted, with our culture and track record in bringing innovation and change to life, I’m really excited about the opportunities change will give us to grow.”

Standish has led MotoNovo for more than 22 years, increasing its market share from under 1% to over 20%.

He said, “I am delighted that Karl has been appointed Managing Director and look forward to seeing the company continue its commitment to innovation and change under his leadership.”

FleetCheck expands Paul Kirby as an external consultant for new electric van initiative

As part of a new FleetCheck initiative for electric vans, Paul Kirby has joined the fleet software company’s advisory resources as an external consultant.

Kirby, who recently started his own company EV Essentials, will be working on a variety of projects, including creating an electric light commercial vehicle (LCV) guide for fleet operators to be released before the end of the year, FleetCheck said.

Kirby has worked in the automotive industry as a van specialist for companies like Vanarama and LeasePlan for more than 25 years.

Peter Golding, Managing Director at FleetCheck, said: “Our users are very interested in the electrification of vans and we have formulated a new strategy to meet their needs.

“We have started a new program to improve our software to expand its functionality for eLCV operators and this work will continue for the next several years.

“We also provide advice on everything from the acquisition of electric vans to range management and operating costs to driver training.

“We are very pleased to be able to include Paul in this initiative. He is probably the leading expert in the country in the eLCV arena and brings an enormous amount of knowledge with him. “

Two senior E.On executives responsible for electric vehicle charging are joining Paythru. on

Payment technology company Paythru has hired two senior executives from E. On’s electric vehicle (EV) charging company, Innogy eMobility, with an opportunity to improve the EV payments market.

James O’Neill, former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Innogy, joins Paythru as the new CEO. He will be joined by former Shell and Samsung employee John Clifford, who most recently worked as Business Development Manager at Innogy and comes to Paythru as Chief Commercial Officer.

Paythru said its mission is to make EV users’ journey easier by bringing parking and charging payments together into a single interoperable app. Its platform is already used by Flowbird, FM Conway, City EV and Infinium, it said.

O’Neill said, “The EV industry has been slow when it comes to payments that are fragmented and often have a poor customer experience. It takes a silver bullet.

“This is the first time I’ve seen a solution like this and a role in which I can bring my expertise to the table to take full advantage of the burgeoning markets for electric vehicles and parking fees.

“The combined market for parking and charging fees represents a huge opportunity that has not yet been cracked.

“We look forward to entering this market and expanding Paythru while making charging easier for the growing number of EV drivers across the country.”
