Just a few moments after 2022, the car tips over onto the roof in front of the Wigston Pub

Shortly after the country celebrated the New Year, a car fell on the roof in front of a pub.

Leicestershire Police were called to the scene on Saturday January 1 at 12:15 p.m. after a car was reportedly parked on the roof on Station Road, Wigston, just outside the 1852 pub.

The officers found the vehicle and quickly identified the injured driver. He was taken to the hospital for treatment for his injuries and is currently still in the hospital.

The police have confirmed that the man’s injuries are not life threatening.

The Leicestershire Police investigation is ongoing.

A picture of the crash has surfaced online and is being shared on a local Spotted page on Facebook.

It shows the car on the roof after the crash, with the lights still on and a few people around the wreck – with some damaged railings right next to the photo.

One person pointed out that luckily no one was injured in the walking accident because of the damaged railing.

They said, “I also removed part of the railing … luckily nobody was out at the time.”
