Leeds woman’s terror as ‘aggressive’ thug tried force himself into her car

A woman has been left terrified as a man tried to force himself into her car as she was parking her car in Leeds.

The woman was parking at her home after driving to a garage in Harehills when she claims a man jumped out and tried to open her car door.

Luckily her car doors were locked from the inside so he couldn’t get in.

She claims the man then started banging on her car window and aggressively demanded money.

The woman said: “I was shocked and shaken.

“I found my voice after a few minutes and asked him what he wanted, he kept insisting for me to open the door or roll the window down.

“I said to him I wouldn’t and would call the police if he kept banging on my window, so he backed off a little when I mentioned that.”

The woman said she asked him what she wanted from her and when he said money she suddenly realized she was probably an intended mugging victim.

The woman alleged he continued to demand she got out of the car and asked where she lived – luckily at this point a neighbor who was driving past stopped and questioned the man.

She claims he then tried to make up a story that she had smashed into his car in Harehills so he had followed her, she added: “I told him that I had not and the garage had CCTV.

“I said I could either give him my insurance details or call the police but he refused and kept asking me to get out of the car.

“In the end we called the police and the man jumped into his car and sped off.

“After speaking to the police, we think he is someone extremely dangerous going around trying to mug people.”

After her terrifying experience she now wants to warn others to always lock your doors before you start driving.

She said: “It was horrible, I was beyond terrified.

“When he first started to open my door I just literally froze in fright, then when he started banging my window I was so shocked.

“I couldn’t get my brain to process words, I’m honestly not sure what would have happened if my door was unlocked because he was so aggressive.

“After he left I was shaking so bad I could hardly stand, my neighbor was equally scared and shocked.”
