M1 lane locked after car went up in flames

There were queues on the M1 northbound this afternoon after a car caught fire.

A lane on the motorway was closed while the incident was being resolved, which led to traffic disruptions in the area.

A Range Rover Sport on the hard shoulder was damaged in the fire that was put out by the fire service.
