The M25 is completely closed to investigative work this morning after a major crash late at night.
The three-vehicle accident occurred between exit 26 for Waltham Abbey and exit 25 around 10:45 p.m. (Saturday, January 1).
The investigation by the emergency services on the motorway is ongoing this morning, but the traffic that was trapped last night has now been released.

Two of the vehicles are said to have driven into an adjacent field, one of which ignited.
The road is blocked from exit 27 and there is a detour.
