Mystery as tires piled up to make barrier at St Ann’s car park

Dozens of tires have been stacked up to form what appears to be a makeshift barrier at a car park in Nottingham. The rubber tires were spotted next to the former IC Discounts store in St Ann’s Well Road, St Ann’s on Tuesday, May 3.

The tires were dumped in the car park a few days earlier before two men rolled them to the entrance, according to a witness who wished to remain anonymous. It has not been confirmed what the exact reason is for the barricade.

They added that they thought it was a “massive health and safety risk”. The car park is positioned next to a building that used to be occupied by IC Discounts, until it shut earlier this year after 28 years of trading.

The firm, which has another cash and carry shop in Upper Boundary Road, is known for stocking children’s toys, cooking equipment, cleaning supplies, tools and confectionery.
