Motorists seriously injured in accident in Northumberland
A motorist was hospitalized seriously injured after two vehicles collided in Northumberland.
A blue Renault collided with a black BMW on Sunday at around 6:50 p.m., which was driving against the direction of travel on the B6318 military road.
This was believed to have happened about 200 yards from the Two Hoots intersection.
Officials and rescue workers came and the driver of the Renault and the driver of the BMW were taken to hospital seriously injured.
Both are currently in a stable condition. A BMW passenger was also taken to the hospital.
The investigation into the incident has started and the police are now asking witnesses to come forward.
Constable Andy Donald of the Northumbria Police Department Motor Patrols said: “This was a very serious collision in which three people were injured and both drivers were seriously injured.
“Our investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing and we are keen to hear from anyone who can help us create a clear picture of the moments that led to this incident.
“If you were on the B6318 military road at the time and saw a blue Renault or black BMW, please contact us.
“We are particularly interested in hearing from drivers who may have dash cam footage.”
