Pedestrians forced to walk in road after car parks like this

Furious neighbors have been forced to walk in the road – to get passed a car parked completely on the pavement.

The vehicle was parked on the pavement on Skipacre Avenue, in Smallthorne, throughout the course of last weekend.

It prompted complaints to StokeonTrentLive – with pictures being shared of the offending vehicle.

The latest issue comes as the Government has carried out a consultation over whether to introduce a £70 fixed-penalty notice for pavement parking outside London.

Skipacre Avenue is particularly bad at night and weekends when people are home from work.

Gerald Simpson said: “This road is full day and night and people find it hard to get passed.

“It has got worse and it won’t get any better. The road isn’t wide enough for the size of the cars.”

Siobhan Sheeran, aged 35, added: “It is annoying – and it was even more annoying when I had a pushchair and had to walk on the road.”
