Police warn drivers about the car meeting in Northants

Motorists attending a Deanshanger car meeting have been warned by police not to abuse local roads.

Car enthusiasts are gathering for an organized gathering in the city of Northamptonshire on Sunday 29th August.

Northamptonshire Police have said the meeting is perfectly legal and likely to be uneventful, but have asked drivers to be responsible.

Chief Inspector Tom Thompson said, “We are aware of the Deanshanger car meeting scheduled for tomorrow and as a result there will be an increased police presence in the area.

“While this meeting is completely legal and many meetings of this type go on without incident, we would like to make it clear to the participants tomorrow that the roads will be very busy due to the holiday weekend, so please drive carefully.

“We have seen incidents in the past where people attending car meetings have driven their vehicles dangerously around the area, resulting in collisions with members of the public – we absolutely don’t want this to happen tomorrow, and anyone who drives dangerously is treated. ”by officers.

“We will be working closely with the Thames Valley Police on this event and anyone in the area who is concerned about anything they see tomorrow is encouraged to contact us.”
