The Prince of Wales was visiting the hydrogen-powered car company Riversimple in Llandrindod Wells, central Wales, when he hopped into the futuristic car. Charles, a lifelong environmentalist, seemed completely caught up in the experience of whizzing away from the future in a bright green car.
Prince Charles heard the car known as Rasa emit nothing but pure water vapor.
The lifelong environmentalist also spoke extensively with the engineers behind the design of the car.
In addition to the CO2-free emissions, the engineers explained how the car, with its low body weight and thin tires, also minimizes particles from tires and brakes.
While the strong regenerative braking also reduces the penetration of harmful pollutants into the earth’s atmosphere.

The two-seater has an astonishing range of 300 miles before it needs to be refueled with hydrogen fuel cells.
Riversimple says the Rasa model is “easy to use, responsive and fun to drive”.
They also claim it can get 0-60mph in “9.7 seconds”.
Prince Charles is absolutely delighted when the engineers explained the special features of the car before it was invited for a test drive.

The Rasa is the first of a series of vehicles that Riversimple wants to offer its customers.
Riversimple is currently building Rasas for public trials that could change the face of greenhouse gas emitting gasoline and diesel cars.
Prince Charles’ visit to the hydrogen car company follows a recent visit to the mini-car factory in Oxford in June, where he announced his joy at the birth of granddaughter Lilibet, Harry and Meghan’s second child.
Visiting the future kings is part of a series of engagements he is making in Wales this week.
