A scared 12-year-old girl fled after a man tried to lure her into his car on the way home from school.
The victim was approached by the man on Piercefield Road, Formby yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
The man, who was described by the police as a 50-year-old man with gray hair and sunglasses, is said to have stopped shortly after 3:30 p.m. in a steel gray limousine near the Spar supermarket.

Then he asked the girl to get into his car.
An email sent to the parents of students at nearby Formby High School last night stated, “Please note that one of our students had a frightening experience on the way home from school today.
“The incident was reported to the police.
“The student was approached on Piercefield Road, Formby, and a man in his 50s or 60s then repeatedly tried to get the student into his car. This is an extremely serious incident.
“Please can you speak to your son or daughter tonight to make sure they know what to do when faced with such a situation.
“I’ll message the students separately and we’ll discuss this in the tutoring session tomorrow.
“We will also increase staff presence near this incident at the end of the day.”
Merseyside Police said they are seeking information following a report of “suspicious behavior” in Formby yesterday, Wednesday June 30th.
CCTV investigations into the incident are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to report to the police.
Inspector Graham Fisher said, “We are taking this incident seriously and are investigating to find out who was involved.
“The girl who was approached did the right thing in contacting us and we would advise anyone in a similar situation to do just that.
“Although no one was physically injured in the incident, the man’s behavior understandably frightened a young girl, and we would like to encourage anyone with information or dashcam footage from the Piercefield Road area on Wednesday to contact the police or Crimestoppers with any information.
