Smashed-up car left on Cheshire roundabout for days after crash

A smashed-up car was left in the middle of a roundabout in Cheshire for days following a crash. The vehicle, which is believed to be a Ford Fiesta, is thought to have been involved in a collision on the A534 near Wheelock towards the beginning of last week.

Officers from Cheshire Constabulary were not called to a collision but were contacted by the vehicle owner at around 8.30am on Tuesday March 8. They told police that the car would be recovered from the busy roundabout.

Pictures from the scene showed the wreck the car was left in, with the front of the vehicle completely destroyed. Various pieces of debris were seen strewn across the grass of the roundabout and police tape had been put up around it.

They said: “We were called by the vehicle owner at 8.30am on Tuesday March 8. The owner reported that he would be leaving the vehicle at the side of the road and arranging recovery.”

But the car was left on the roundabout throughout Tuesday and was still seen there by divers days later. It was last seen on the roundabout by Cheshire Live on Thursday evening (March 10).

Residents living nearby have said that the car has been taken away. It is not known whether anyone was hurt in the collision or why it took a number of days to remove it from the roundabout.
