Stolen car linked to burglary seized at Rumworth, Bolton

A stolen car that was linked to a burglary has been recovered by police at Bolton.

The car, a black Citroen, was seen by two police community support officers in the Rumworth area who, on further investigations found that it was not only stolen but that it was also linked to a recent burglary.

After being found by the officers, the car was seized and taken away by lorry.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “PCSO Jackson and PCSO Morris from the Rumworth neighborhood team have recovered a stolen vehicle that was linked to a Burglary.

“If you see anything suspicious in your area, report it using the GMP live chat or report anonymously via crimestoppers.”

The car will now be taken by the police to be examined and eventually returned to its rightful owner.

No arrests have yet been reported either for the theft of the car itself or for the burglary it was connected to.

This comes after several recent car thefts in the Bolton and Bury areas with police urging anyone with any information of concerns to call 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.

Alternatively, witnesses can call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
