Stolen car rushes through the back streets of Mansfield at speeds of over 160 km / h

A stolen car was driven at over 100 mph before it lost control to evade police.

The vehicle had been driven erratically on Thursday morning shortly after 2:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Way, Mansfield.

Police say advanced drivers from an armed response unit tried to overtake it, but the driver sped off and turned left into Ratcliffe Gate.

In the following minutes, the car was driven on the wrong side of the road, crossed a red light and drove at more than 145 kilometers per hour through a residential area in Warsop.

At one point in pursuit, it reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.

It eventually came to a halt near Wood Lane, Langwith, after the driver lost control and climbed a curb.

Then a bag of white powder that police believe is cocaine was thrown out of the car.

Three men, two aged 19 and the other aged 35, were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drink driving, failure to stop, driving with a ban, driving without a license, possession of class A and B drugs arrested, stolen and taken away from a vehicle without consent.

The suspected drugs were found and the car recovered.

All three suspects were questioned and later released as part of the investigation.

Nottinghamshire Police Department Inspector Susan Wain said: “This was a horrific driving scene which could have seriously injured other road users and the occupants of this vehicle.

“We will never tolerate such behavior and I would like to acknowledge the ability and professionalism of the pursuing officers who brought this incident to a safe conclusion.

“The message of this incident really couldn’t be clearer – if you don’t stop for the police, we won’t just let you go; we will pursue you, we will catch up with you and you will answer for your actions. “
