The driver is taken to the hospital after the car tips over onto the roof on the road in Loughborough

A driver was hospitalized after his car fell on the roof on a street in the city center.

The man was injured after his Vauxhall car overturned shortly after 2 p.m. on Frederick Street in Loughborough today.

Police said his injuries were not considered serious and that the car hit a parked vehicle before it settled down.

The road was closed until officers could arrange for the car to be removed.

A police spokesman in Leicestershire said: “The officers were present and discovered that a car had collided with a parked vehicle.

“The driver of the car – a man – was taken to the hospital. He is not believed to have suffered life threatening or life changing injuries.

A spokesman for the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The male driver had got out of the Vauxhall car and was being assessed by EMAS (East Midlands Ambulance Service) when we got there.”
