A woman has claimed she was left scared after a taxi driver “locked” her in the vehicle and told her he “don’t care what happened to her” after she mistakenly gave him the wrong address.
The 29-year-old woman says she booked a taxi from a private rental company at 6:30 p.m. on January 17. She said that as she got into the car, the driver pulled away without confirming her location.
Shortly after, the Hull woman realized they were going to the wrong place and realized she had entered the wrong address, Hull Live reported.
She claims to have asked the driver if he could take her to the correct address and also offered to cover any additional costs.

She then claims that the driver became confrontational and told her that “he didn’t care what happened to her” because she no longer had “booking rights”.
The woman says she was startled at the time, realizing she didn’t know where she was or where the driver was taking her.

The woman says she told the driver that if he left her and attacked her it would come back to him as she would be the last person to see her.
She claims to have reminded him of what happened to Libby Squire, the 21-year-old college student who was raped and murdered in 2019.
She then claims the driver told her “Libby was p****d, this won’t happen to you”.
The driver is believed to have taken the woman to the Drive office on Princes Avenue, where the woman claims another employee continued to be rude to her.

The woman said: “She told him to take me to a place that was not my destination. Not sure why, but it set off panic bells. I was scared, I really didn’t know whether to stay in the car or get out. I just felt unsafe.”
When the car pulled up in an area of Hull she thought she knew, she claims the driver locked his car, but says she was able to roll down the car window and let herself out by pulling the handle from the outside.
The woman said: “I was shaking and feeling so vulnerable. If I had been so naive, anything could have happened.
“I just don’t want that to happen to anyone else. I will never take Drive again.”
A spokesman for Drive said: “Hull City Council Taxi & Private Hire Licensing has brought this complaint to our attention and we are assisting them in their investigation. It would be inappropriate to comment at this time.”
