Two men take keys from the house and steal car arrested as a suspect

A man has been arrested after a car was stolen in Wirral last week.

Police confirmed that a 42-year-old man from Birkenhead was arrested on suspicion of stealing a motor vehicle.

Two men reportedly took keys from a property on Townsend Street in Bidston at around 11:45 pm on Monday, September 6.

The men then took off from outside the house with a blue Seat Leon.

The car was later recovered in Birkenhead.

After his arrest on Friday September 10th, the man was released as part of an investigation.

The officers are trying to find the second man and anyone with information is asked to report to the police.

Detective Inspector Tony O’Brien said, “Thanks to information from the local community and our extensive investigation, we were able to make an arrest.

“Our investigation continues to locate the second man who was involved in the incident.

“Operation Castle is a dedicated team of detectives and we have seen suspects in prison for more than 500 years since our launch in 2018.
