A man has been sentenced to probation after being charged with dangerous driving.
The Surrey Police Roads Policing Unit (RPU) posted a video of the crime on Twitter showing the driver “ramming” his vehicle into two police cars before driving off.
This subsequently led to a police chase, but the officers involved were able to stop driver Stephen Tardif to “ensure the chase was not putting the public at risk”.
The incident occurred on April 10, 2020 on the A3 northbound near Esher, which branched off onto Copsem Lane.
The tweet posted on Tuesday (June 1st) read: “The verdict of the court. The driver of this vehicle rammed two police cars and did not stop them. We acted quickly to ensure the persecution did not endanger the public.”
