Woman cut out of car after accident in Oldbury

A WOMAN was rushed to hospital after being rescued from a car in Oldbury.

The woman was trapped in a car when it crashed into another car on Roway Lane at 9:30 a.m. this morning (Monday 14 June).

Firefighters cut off the roof of one of the cars to free the trapped woman, and she was taken to the hospital with two men.

A West Midlands Fire Department spokesman said: “We were called by police at 9:31 am about a two car accident that involved five people.

“A woman was trapped from her injuries and our crews had to remove the roof of their vehicle to get her out.

“We made both cars safe.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 9:31 am for reports of a collision between two cars on Roway Lane.

“Two ambulances and a paramedic were on site.

“On arrival we discovered a total of five patients.

“One of them, a woman, had to be freed from her car by the fire brigade.

“She was taken to Sandwell Hospital with two other male patients after receiving treatment for minor injuries.

“Two more patients were examined and discharged on site.”

West Midlands Police have been asked for comment.
