A woman’s car was confiscated after she failed to renew her car insurance, police said.
Greater Manchester Police traffic officials stopped a silver SAAB in The Sheddings, Bolton after it was discovered that it did not have valid insurance.
According to the police, however, the driver of the car said that she had renewed her insurance two days earlier.
It turned out that she had actually renewed her pet insurance, not her vehicle insurance.
The car was therefore confiscated by officials and the driver was issued a traffic offense protocol (TOR), the police said.
A spokesman for GMP Traffic said: “The driver of the SAAB was stopped by officers at The Sheddings, Bolton.
“She was absolutely convinced that she had just renewed her insurance two days ago. It turned out she was right.
“However, this was their pet insurance and no car insurance was found. Car confiscated and TOR issued.”
