Fear of range can be a thing of the past. Mercedes-Benz became the first mainstream automaker to produce an electric vehicle that can travel from Southampton to Inverness on a single charge.
The German manufacturer said it broke new ground in battery life technology and developed a prototype that can travel 620 miles without stopping to charge. That’s about three times the average range of an electric car and 200 miles more than Tesla’s Model S.
The Vision EQXX prototype, which will be presented at the CES technology fair in Las Vegas, forms the basis for a new vehicle that is due to hit the market in 2024
