Drivers have been warned to expect delays this evening (December 29), with queues jammed up to exit 17 for Prestwich and Whitefield.

In a post on Twitter, a Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) spokesman wrote, “M60 counterclockwise from J15 to J14.

“The traffic is currently being kept in all lanes due to an RTC.

“The emergency service is there to help.

“At this point the traffic jam is back on J17. Please look for an alternative route.”

According to Inrix’s traffic monitoring system, four cars are believed to have been involved in the collision.

At around 6.45 p.m. the road was completely cleared again.

Comments were received from the Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service.
