Former pop stars Cheeky Girls are raising the profile of the auto sales career

National media reports revealing former pop stars Gabriela and Monica Irimia now work in franchise dealerships have raised the profile of the UK auto retail sector.

The twin sisters, who hit the pop charts as The Cheeky Girls in the early 2000s after appearing on pop stars The Rivals, now both work in sales at various Hyundai dealers.

And they told the Sun on Sunday and the Daily Mail that they love the job so much that they have the ambition to run their own dealership one day.

“We both enjoy our work,” Gaby, who works at Minstergate Hyundai in York, told the Mail.

“I’m passionate about cars, so it’s not just about selling, I like selling people and making them happy.”

Monica, who has been with the Read Hyundai dealership in Boston, Lincolnshire for some time and has been surnamed Taylor since they got married, said, “What we’re doing grew out of a long discussion with Gabi and me because we accept The Cheeky Girls is “won’t go on forever.”

The sisters still perform and see the automobile trade as a “parallel career”.
