Woman trapped in car after three car accident in Bovey Tracey

A woman is trapped in a car after an accident involving three vehicles.

The car went off the lane in the collision that occurred this afternoon on the A382 at Bovey Tracey.

The road and traffic monitoring service Inrix reported at the time: “A382 Newton Road closed in both directions, traffic jam due to an accident, two vehicles involved from Newton Road (Bovey Tracey) to Battle Road (Heathfield).

“A vehicle went off the road near the gas station.”

Now the Devon and Somerset Fire Department has confirmed that they previously rescued the woman and that she has been left to the rescue service.

A spokesman said: “Crews from Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot and a heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor were mobilized to report a traffic accident involving a woman who was still in one of the vehicles.

“Upon arrival, the crews confirmed that a car had left the freeway and a woman was physically trapped.

“A collision in traffic with three cars, a woman was freed by the fire brigade with small tools and hydraulic rescue equipment. The injured person was handed over to the ambulance and the scene of the accident was secured.”
