Young mother found dead in the house is linked to a car accident, police say

Heartfelt tribute was paid to a young mother of two found dead in a house after a road collision on the outskirts of east Belfast.

he 27-year-old was named as Charlotte Louise Flood on site tonight.

The PSNI said it is investigating a “clear link” between the collision and the woman’s discovery on the Dundonald property and is investigating reports that early morning damage to property on Lisbane Drive, Newtownards, may be related to the incident.

The young woman was pronounced dead in a house on Ardmore Avenue, where she was believed to have been taken after the crash, after an ambulance was called to the address yesterday morning. They then alerted the police.

Seven people have now been arrested on suspicion of multiple traffic offenses related to the incident.

Mrs. Flood was the mother of two young daughters – a newborn baby girl and a toddler. A cause of death has yet to be determined.

Previously, around 4:30 a.m., the police had been called to a collision with a black BMW on Comber Road near the intersection with Hillhead Road.

The PSNI said occupants of the vehicle were reportedly leaving the area in a Suzuki car when officers arrived.

Police were then informed by ambulance services of a report that a woman believed to have been involved in the collision was found at the address in Dundonald.

“The employees of the NIAS took part in the woman and treated her. Unfortunately, she was later pronounced dead. An autopsy will be carried out in due course to determine the cause of death, ”said a PSNI spokesman.

“A Suzuki car was discovered near the property and seven people, four men and three women who were also at the address, were arrested on suspicion of a number of traffic offenses and are currently in police custody.”

“I encourage anyone with information to share it with the police and do it quickly.”

Tributes were paid to Ms. Flood on social media and a friend said she couldn’t believe the news and said, “RIP Charlotte Louise …

Part of Comber Road was closed to motorists when officers were conducting an investigation into the crime scene.

The PSNI has asked anyone who could have seen the collision to contact the detectives on the non-emergency number 101 under reference number 185 01/06/21.

“I would also like to urge anyone who may have taken pictures of the collision on Comber Road or the Gray Suzuki Swift in the Dundonald area to call us,” the spokesman added
